Nikah Portal
A marriage service that used to run on a spreadsheet, now one portal from registration to certificate.
Masjid E Vali asks every couple to register, prove who they are, complete a preparation course and book a date before their nikah. We built the portal that carries them through it, and the back office that lets facilitators run it.

- 8
- stages tracked for every couple
- 2
- partners under one reference, each with a login
- 3
- roles: couples, facilitators and the office
- Daily
- reminders that chase stalled applications
01 · The challenge
Registrations, document checks, course completion and bookings were all tracked in one shared Google Sheet. Facilitators chased couples by email for missing documents, couldn't see who had actually watched the course, and juggled dates by hand. Couples had no single place to see what was left to do.
02 · What we built
One portal with a side for each person. Couples register together, upload their documents privately and work through a video course that can't be skipped, with short questions along the way and a final assessment. Facilitators get a queue that moves each application through eight stages, from new to certificate, and a calendar they control. The existing spreadsheet stayed in sync while the office moved across.
Inside the product
Nikah Portal, from every side.
Replicas of real screens, rebuilt here so you can see how it works for the people who use it. Names and data are made up.
01 · Couple
Documents, uploaded once
After registering, each partner uploads their ID and proof of address. The checklist ticks itself off, and nothing is shared beyond the facilitator.

02 · Facilitator
A queue, not a spreadsheet
Facilitators see every application by stage. Approving a couple's documents sends both partners their login and opens their course.

What it does
- 01
Registration as a couple
Both partners register under one reference, and each sees the other's progress without seeing their private documents.
- 02
Private document checks
Passports and proof of address are uploaded once, stored privately and checked for completeness before a facilitator reviews them.
- 03
A course that has to be watched
Lessons can't be skipped. Quick questions pause the video at key moments, and a final assessment unlocks the certificate step.
- 04
A queue for facilitators
Every application sits in a clear stage, with documents, course progress and email history on one page.
- 05
Dates the office controls
Facilitators set the weekly schedule and capacity. Couples see live availability before they book.
- 06
Reminders that send themselves
A daily job nudges couples who have stalled, so nobody chases anybody by hand.
